Collaborative presentation and workshop with Giocherenda
16 September 2019
Migrant Knowledge, Early Modern and Beyond: an event at the Crossroads, Cambridge
Marina Warner presented Stories in Transit alongside Dine Diallo, who presented Giocherenda. Participants from former workshops gave presentations on the way words, animation, drawing and music have been incorporated into the games and techniques of Stories in Transit. We screened a film (funded by European Research Council, via the Crossroads project) edited with footage from the workshops in Palermo in September 2018. This is available to watch on our Youtube channel here. The session ended with a practical workshop, where the audience was invited to take part in The Wheel of Wishes, a game developed by Giocherenda.
Notes from the workshop are available to read here. An impromptu reading of one of the stories generated by a group during the workshop can be found here, with performances by Wafa' Tarnowska, Stevie Wishart and Mohamed Sarrar.
